NG 3264 is thought to be the painting Morisot exhibited at the fifth Impressionist exhibition of 1880 with the title \'The Lake in the Bois de Boulogne\'. There is a watercolour of the same composition (present whereabouts unknown).
The same models, in identical clothes, also appear in a work by Morisot entitled In the Bois de Boulogne (Stockholm, Nationalmuseum) which was exhibited in the same year.
