NG 788.6 is part of a polyptych signed by Carlo Crivelli and dated 1476 on the step below the Virgin and Child in the central panel. The altarpiece is discussed under NG 788.1, and see Appendix A for a reconstruction. NG 788.6 was on the extreme left of the upper tier. When acquired by the Gallery, the altarpiece had a third tier of four smaller full-length saints (NG 788.10-13); these are now acknowledged as parts of a separate altarpiece and are discussed under NG 788.10.
