NG 6360 is recorded in a photograph as being the pinnacle of the retable of Saint Martin in the church of St Martin in Riglos (Huesca province). The central panel of the altarpiece was the Saint Martin and the Beggar (Barcelona, Museo de Arte de Cataluña). NG 6360 was placed above this. Three small scenes of events in the life of Saint Martin were set vertically at either side of the altarpiece; the lowest at the left was Saint Martin\'s Vision of the Virgin and Saints (Merion, Pennsylvania, Barnes Foundation), and the lowest at the right, the Death of Saint Martin (Bologna, Pinacoteca). The altarpiece also had a predella, of which five panels are recorded.
Remained in the church for which it was painted (see above) until about 1916; bequeathed by Sir Ronald Storrs, 1964.
