NG 2101 is probably the picture recorded in the eighteenth century in an engraving by Pietro Monaco as belonging to Anton Maria Zanetti, the Venetian engraver and connoisseur. Comparison between its handling and that of Ricci\'s modello of the Assumption in Budapest for the Vienna altarpiece of 1733-4, suggests that it can be similarly dated.
