On the capitals (at left and centre) are the Lanfredini arms. NG 1406 is probably the picture mentioned by Vasari (as by Fra Angelico) in S. Francesco fuor della Porta a S. Miniato, Florence (usually called S. Salvatore al Monte), where a Lanfredini Chapel is recorded. Fra Angelico and his studio painted variants of this composition on numerous occasions; NG 1406 is probably the work of a close follower of the artist.
