The Virgin and Saint John are shown at either side. In other contemporary Crucifixes, a roundel of God the Father surmounts the cross; one may originally have been included here. The panel is extensively damaged: Christ\'s arms have been largely repainted.
NG 567 has in the past been attributed to Segna. It appears to be related to his work, but the precise nature of the link is difficult to define because of its condition. It can be compared, for example, with his signed Crucifix in the Pushkin Museum of Fine Arts, Moscow, and appears to pre-date another work by him of this type in Arezzo (Badia of SS. Flora e Lucilla), which can probably be dated to about 1319.
