Copies in the Certosa, Pavia, record the appearance of the panels before they were cut down between 1784 and 1856. The figure of Satan, which is cut off at the bottom of the panel, is seen more clearly in a copy in the Certosa, Pavia. A metalpoint drawing for Michael\'s armour is in the Royal Library, Windsor.
